No two scarves or shawls are the same. Whether it be yarns, colour, or design, each scarf is different. It is paramount that you have something exclusive; something only for you. Kim prefers to work with extremely fine yarns made from fibres from nature, such as silk, wool, cashmere, cotton, linen, tencel and rayon. Hand- weaving is an ancient art, and a very lengthy process. In fact, more hours are spent preparing the yarn and the loom before the actual weaving gets underway! It’s a very creative process and slight imperfections are part of this process, and indeed, add to the uniqueness of the piece. Scarves will arrive to you wrapped in tissue, in a quality box brandishing Kim Doherty’s label, along with some brief information regarding Kim’s practice.
